Countdown the top Applejack events in 2022.
From Mardi Gras celebrations, cocktail competitions, parties and so much more, let’s take a look back at our favourite events of the past year.
What an action-packed year it has been! We have held countless exciting events, across our 8 venues in Sydney. From internal Applejack team-building events, to celebrating key calendar dates across the group, keep reading for a look back on the year that was.
Our Top Events:
International Women's Day
We celebrated the women of Applejack with a delicious lunch at Forrester’s in Surry Hills. With key female leaders of the group invited to learn from guest speaker Leah Simmons, founder of KAAIAA, the transformational workout that trains the 4 pillars of health. Leah took the group through the four pillars of health and how we can harness these to become better leaders.
The group enjoyed a feast together, chatted about all things hospitality and particularly women in hospitality. It was a fantastic day, which we look forward to every year.
Mardi Gras Celebrations
We celebrated Mardi Gras 2022 with some fabulous events across Applejack. Forrester’s hosted their first ‘Dine with a Queen’ bottomless event, as well as an official Mardi Gras viewing party. The Butler also hosted a ‘Dine with a Queen’ bottomless event, starring The Butler’s own Millenia Alcox.
Plus Artist Sarah McClosckey worked her magic again, with our iconic Fabulous wall mural at The Butler, depicting The Butler’s Millenia Alcox. We can’t wait for an even bigger celebration of Mardi Gras next year, as we celebrate World Pride in Sydney!
Applejack Staff Party
After a 2 year hiatus due to Covid, we were so pumped to bring back the annual Applejack Staff party! We celebrated with an epic party in the sunshine on The Island, danced the day away, and celebrated key staff with our Applejack awards. With Carnivale dancers, drums, and awesome vibes, it was a fantastic day out and we already can’t wait to celebrate in 2023.
SoCal Taco & Tequila Fiesta
Back in its 4th year, SoCal hosted its annual taco & Tequila Fiesta! Key events included Comedy night, all-you-can-eat tacos, a cocktail masterclass & of course our legendary Chilli eating competition. With specials throughout, live music, decorations, and great SoCal vibes, it was the place to be to celebrate Cinco De Mayo in Sydney!
Applejack AAA Conference
This year we hosted our first internal Applejack AAA Leadership Conference. The 3 day conference was set out to inspire, challenge and motivate the current leaders of Applejack including our Head Office team, Head Chefs, General Managers and senior leaders in the company, as well as our Applejack Directors Ben and Hamish. From teamwork challenges to an awards nights, it was an action-packed few days!
RAFI Launch Party
It was a huge year with the launch of our 8th venue RAFI North Sydney. To celebrate we hosted an epic launch party in October, featuring a live tunes by DJ Alice Quiddington, speeches from Applejack Co-founders Ben & Hamish, flowings drinks, delicious canapes, plus a live oyster shucking station, and so much more! It was an incredible night that we will never forget.
Applejack Summer Job fair
We hosted our first-ever Summer Job Fair at RAFI North Sydney! Our HR Crew Matt and Maria invited Applejack prospects to join us for a fun day out, so much more than just an interview. With challenges, prizes, videos and so much more, it was an interactive day for all involved. We already can’t wait for our next job fair.
The Botanist's 10th Birthday
The Botanist Kirribilli turned 10 in October this year! We celebrated with 10 days of giveaways with local Kirribilli businesses, an epic $1000 Applejack Giveaway, and a Birthday party to remember. It was a celebration of all those involved in making The Botanist what it is today, with past employees, local businesses and regular guests invited to the party. With live tunes, canapes and flowing champagne, it was a fantastic celebration of our Kirribilli local gem.
The Butler in Bloom
The Butler once again went into full bloom for Spring, with Butler in Bloom. Head Chef Amber Doig served up a delicious dessert special, while Bar Manager Jaicob Greenhill teamed up with RAFI Bar Manager Cameron Freno to create the Lil Davo Cocktail special. Our Wall mural once again got a makeover by artist Sarah McCloskey, with bright florals and seasonal fruit gracing the front entrance of The Butler.
Applejack Cocktail Competition
To finish off our list of top events is our annual Applejack Cocktail Competition! Hosted at Four Pillars Lab in Surry Hills, 8 finalists showed off their bartending skills, shaking, stirring and pouring their own unique creations. The cocktails had to feature Four Pillars Gin, and represent the four elements of life: water, air, earth and fire.
It was an awesome afternoon watching our bartenders showcase their passion and skills and eventually crowning our 3 winners.
What an action-packed year it was, with so many exciting events.
