Applejack Food Sales For Staff

Applejack Hospitality Reopens Restaurants With A ‘Choose What You Pay’ Initiative To Help Staff

To celebrate the revival of Applejack, we will begin the gradual reopening of our restaurants this winter with a welcome twist – the first days of trade will pay tribute to our staff, with food provided on-the-house (excludes all drink sales), allowing customers to choose what they wish to pay for their food orders.

All monetary contributions for the group-wide ‘Food Sales For Staff’ initiative will be pooled and shared equally, going directly to all returning Applejack employees that lost their income and weren’t eligible for the government’s JobKeeper Payment scheme.

“There is no hidden clause, no catch – we’ve ensured our business is in a financially stable position to cover the costs and we just want to give back to our employees who have done it tough. Each restaurant will have its own spin staying true to the offerings that you’ve grown to love, and all the food served will be on the house to allow customers’ contribution to go directly to the people who serve them” affirmed Applejack Co-Founders Hamish Watts and Ben Carroll.

As the hospitality industry was forced to shut their doors back in March due to CV-19, employment rates plummeted and unfortunately, many of our employees were affected and not eligible for government support. In addition to getting our wonderful staff back into the venues, we’re hoping your ‘food tips’ will help revive the livelihood of our teams so we can continue to deliver exceptional experiences for you.

We’ll kick off the ‘Food Sales For Staff’ initiative at SoCal Neutral Bay with a 3-day taco bonanza. During the first 3 nights (Monday 22nd – Wednesday 24th June), we’ll be serving up a bottomless feast of our legendary Baja Fish, Pork, Smoked Brisket and Tofu Tacos, along with all-time favourites Guacamole with Black Corn Tortilla Chips and Churros with Dulce de Leche sauce. The value of our bottomless taco sessions are usually between $35-$55, and we just ask that you contribute what you can as a ‘Taco Tip’ for our amigos.

The Butler Potts Point will dish up a classic Ibero-American banquet by Head Chef Amber Doig on Monday 6th July, valued at $68 per person; and The Botanist Kirribilli will have its classic family feast valued at $52 on Monday 13th July. Our chefs are busy preparing seasonal menus for the relaunch, which will be available to view prior to the reopening dates.

We look forward to welcoming you back on our first night, please visit the restaurant websites to make a reservation:
