Women of Applejack

Applejack is a leading Australian hospitality company that prides itself on supporting and empowering women in the workplace.

From chefs to general managers, bartenders, waiters, designers, events teams, and more, we are committed to celebrating the achievements of women and driving gender parity in the industry.

As a company that values diversity and inclusion, we recognise the unique contributions that women bring to the table. We understand the importance of creating an inclusive workplace that fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration, which is why we actively promote and support women in the hospitality industry.

Our commitment to supporting women in hospitality is evident in our teams. The women who represent the company are role models who drive, challenge, motivate and inspire others. From our female head chefs who create culinary delights to our general managers who run successful restaurants and bars, the marketing team that helps promote and advertise the venues, the bartenders and waiters who provide welcoming customer service, the designers who create beautiful artwork and spaces, and the events team who help organise and manage events, the women of Applejack are true leaders in their field.

One of the ways Applejack supports women in hospitality is by creating a culture of continual learning and development. We provide equal training and mentorship opportunities to support women to progress for promotion – we encourage female employees to take on leadership roles within the company.

In addition, we host an annual International Women’s Day event with leaders of all genders in the company to recognise and celebrate the women of Applejack. At the event, we discuss important topics including the concerns different genders have with working in hospitality, how we might create a better workplace that encourages female leaders to progress for promotion, and how we might create new policies to support our peoples values in our venues.

While there has been progress made towards gender equality in the industry, there is still a long way to go. At Applejack, we remain committed to our journey of creating an enjoyable and equitable workplace for everyone.
