Applejack Women’s Day Brunch 2025

Female leaders from our team came together for an inspiring brunch event at RAFI URBNSURF.

On Friday, 7th March, 60 female leaders from Applejack gathered for a morning of connection and inspiration to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025.

The event took place at RAFI URBNSURF’s stunning Surf Suites, the crashing waves providing the perfect backdrop for this special occasion. Guests were welcomed with a beautiful brunch spread as they took their seats across two long tables, ready to enjoy delicious food while recognising each other’s achievements.

The RAFI team curated an impressive feast that featured a bread board, cucumbers with labneh and olives, heirloom tomatoes with tonnato, 7-minute eggs with crispy potatoes and romesco, smoked Ōra King Salmon, coconut yoghurt with muesli and more, along with refreshing juices, tea and coffee.

Head Of People & Culture Maria Strudwick extended a warm welcome and highlighted the group’s accomplishments, emphasising the significance of women supporting each other in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Maria proudly announced the growth in female leadership at Applejack venues, with the percentage rising from 35% in 2019 to an impressive 51% in 2025. The current workforce at Applejack stands at 47% men and 53% women.

We highlighted voices from both Applejack and our new partner Compass Group, with Group Operations Manager Holly and Compass General Manager Kat sharing their own journeys and experiences as women in hospitality and the workforce.

It was a wonderful morning and the perfect way to recognise the contributions that our female leaders have made to the success of Applejack, as we celebrate progress, acknowledge challenges, and, most importantly, commit to accelerating action for gender equality.
