Humans of Applejack: Isabela Tuono

We sat down for a chat with RAFI North Sydney Restaurant Manager, Isabela Tuono.

Isa is a key member of the RAFI leadership team, managing the bustling restaurant, as well as assisting in the training and development of the RAFI team.

A year since opening, RAFI has seen great success, much in part due to the epic Management team steering the ship. As restaurant Manager Isa plays an important role in the everyday running of RAFI.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your experience in hospitality?

“I have been in Australia for 5 and a half years and I started working in hospitality 5 years ago when I moved to Australia from Brasil. 3 years ago I did my first trial shift at Bopp & Tone, and since then I have progressed to Management & assisted in the opening of RAFI in 2022 as Restaurant Manager.”

What do you love about being a Manager in the hospitality industry?

“I love being a manager in hospitality! Managing people and providing our guests with an incredible dining experience is what it’s all about. I also love helping assist in the professional development of our staff with our training programs that I have helped develop.”


Why Applejack?

“The culture at Applejack has been incredible since day one. From my very first trial shift at Bopp & Tone almost 3 years ago it was a welcoming environment and still very much is today.”

Favourite Applejack Memory?

“The Applejack staff parties are always a standout memory. Also our team bonding experiences are the best, being able to connect with the team after a long but rewarding shift when we’re busy is always fun!”

Favourite RAFI order?

“To drink the Almost Ilegal Seltzer because it’s very fresh and so easy to drink, perfect for summer. My favourite food dish is our famous South Coast Tuna; It’s a Rafi classic, super fresh, and full of different flavours. And for dessert the Chocolate Hazelnut Tart because, first of all, it’s chocolate, and it has this amazing smooth and creamy flavour.”
